So I spent two months plus talking my old work boss into redeeming money owed me--plus interest.
Just short of getting a lawyer, he coughs up. Like a holiday miracle.

Two weeks later, the nifty laptop dies. Motherboard toast and not sure about the hard drive yet.
Old boss sends bill for laptop same week I find out it can't be fixed.

And I did agree to pay for it when I left.
Oh well. I did use it for a year.

My next machine....
....I want it to last more than three years.

Mark is all grumbly grumbly because the fan motor died in the car, and while it was in the shop, they found the wheel bearings needed reworking. $500.

He thinks this is life being unfair. "We just bought a new car!"

I think this is par for the course - the car is paid for, six years old, and has been in two major accidents. She is doing fine.
