What is it with me and laptops?
Hard drive go boom.
That's twice in two years.
Actually counting my upstairs machine, that's once a year for three years.
Argh.

Date: 2006-01-19 02:49 pm (UTC)When I worked at the newspaper, we had a woman that--when she was pregnant--completely faboozled the computer she worked at (it froze up and did wacky things). It stopped after she delivered, then started again when she was pregnant with her second child. True story.
Not that this really helps you at all. But it's an amusing story that I don't get to tell very often. :-)

Date: 2006-01-19 06:38 pm (UTC)So... wait... Arref has been pregnant for the last three years? *grin*
On a similar note, I've just filled out paperwork to get a little electronic card that gives me a code to get access to student records. The bottom of the main info page about this card declares in large letters: "If you are the sort of person for whom electronics NEVER work, DO NOT TOUCH YOUR CARD! Set it on your desk and use a pencil eraser to activate it."
It all seems very "X-Men" to me....
...ooOOOOoooh! Arref is Magneto!
