I'm all for another Ambercon, but regional in the Southwest isn't like regional in the Northeast. We'd all have to fly, and if we're gonna do that, might as well do ACUS.

So long as they don't plan it for the weekend of RinCon (http://southernarizonagamersassociation.org/) or ACNW, I'm cool with it. ^-^

OK, so it's not 800 miles for you. :p

I also don't have a car. So if it's anywhere outside Tucson, I won't be going this year. ^;^

I do have a car, and I've driven that kind of mileage in the last year. No thanks! I'm flying if I go.

No kidding! People don't realize how far Texas (particularly the eastern/central part) really is from Arizona.

That would be because you've driven it.

I grew up in Houston and knew that the halfway mark between Houston and LA was El Paso. I went to summer camp in New Mexico and flew there because it was too far for my parents to drive (they sometimes picked me up on their own trip, but not both ways).

It's 800 miles from Austin to Tucson, and only 1150 miles from Austin to Detroit. (And 1750 from Princeton to Austin, but who's counting?)

I've been a passenger on a trip through the panhandle. My god, Texas goes on forEver.

('course, I was eight at the time. Are we there yet?)

Far side of forever,I'd say. My last leg on the move last March was from Amarillo to Phoenix.
